While the Fastcore technology is a single term the name actually means a family of chemistry that is able to be optimized for a specific application area. If the material is to be used to produce air ducts out of phenolic prepreg an inexpensive relatively strong mandrel is needed that can withstand standard prepreg conditions and can be removed with water Fastcore ECS is the choice. If the mandrel is needed to produce a structural component that requires 380'F and 120 psi autoclave conditions than a second Fastcore derivative is more feasible. Unlike in the past when most materials were made out of a molten salt with a discrete chemistry or a multi component break down tool, Fastcore is able to meet a wider variety of conditions to satisfy the customer's mandrel needs.
